Porn- The world of adults… Ever thought how does it affect your kids? We all know the Internet is filled with porn. In Internet lingo, it is known as Cyberporn. An ExtremeTech report says, “Porn industry comes third after Google and Facebook. 30 % of total global Internet traffic is porn.” ExtremeTech talked to YouPorn, the second largest porn site, about how many people use their “services”.

Some of the figures listed below are extremely shocking:

• YouPorn has over 100 terabytes of porn on its server.
• The site delivers over 100 million page views each day.
• That amounts to almost a petabyte of a data transfered each day.
• When people are exceptionally busy on the site, it can deliver 4,000 pages a second. ExtremeTech calculates that that adds up to 800Gbps, or 100 gigabytes per second.
• Here’s the kicker: that’s about 2% of the Internet’s total traffic.

At its peak, YouPorn makes up 2 % of the Internet’s total traffic. It may not sound like a lot, but 2 % of the entire Internet traffic can surely be dangerous.

ExtremeTech notes that one of the major differences between porn and non-porn sites is the average duration of a visit. It notes that for top news sites, an average visit is between three to six minutes, just enough time to read one or two stories. But on Xvideos, the top most dominating porn-site, the average time spent on the site is up to 20 minutes, with about 35 to 40 petabytes of pornography being transferred per month, equivalent to 50 gigabytes per second. Xvideos claims 4.4 billion page views per month. The investigation identified the three major porn sites, besides Xvideos, as PornHub, with monthly page views of 2.5 billion; YouPorn, 2.1 billion and Tube8, 970 million page views per month. The industry is estimated to be the highest grossing sector on the Internet.

Another statistics reveal that by the age of 11, every kid has landed upon such adult sites unintentionally! There are more than moral and personal concerns to pornography, however. The legality behind pornography, more specifically, behind cyberporn, is complicated and difficult to manage.
